The Whiterock Flute Band was
established in 1962, through the years the band has kept its
distinctive style of play which I like to know as Traditional
Blood And Thunder, in playing tunes like Dolly's Brae, No
Surrender, Shanghai and The Sash. We have also kept our familiar
colour of blue uniform with quite a bright orange plume on
the side of our Traditional Balmoral Hats.
We have also kept
our Traditional Instruments in the form of the Crown AZ flute
(produced by Hawkes and Sons) along with the Half Lambeg Bass
Drum with the Goats Skin.
Our band has walked
over the 42 years with a wide range of various Orange lodges,
The R.B.P and also Clubs of Apprentice Boys, at home and also
over seas. We have walked with the Larkhall Purple Defenders
for the past decade in their annual east Scotland Boyne
commemoration
